ATI R520 Named Radeon X1800

VR-Zone has word that asian HKEPC website has a photo of a card with R520 core on it. In addition HKEPC reports that ATI may have decided to name the piece of hardware Radeon X1800. They say it will be launched in early October. What puzzles me is that VR-Zone speaks of a variety of R520 cards that have 16, 24 and 32 pipes. No rumour before has ever indicated that R520 would have more than 16 pipes and it was speculated that ATI would try to compensate this downside with higher clock speeds. This was the same tune one could here from all directions. The core clock of the card is 650Mhz+ and memory at 1400Mhz. The R520 card uses 1.26ns GDDR3 memory. I guess we will have to wait for the official launch and see which cards ATI can deal.
